Dominican Parade 2009

IT ALL STARTED WITH A DREAM AND SOME GOOD FRIENDS…

A group of friends, Alex, Ariel, Justin and Johan, saw the need for art projects that reflected their culture, community, curated with a personal touch and their perspective. While working regular jobs, they began designing in 2008 and launching the project in 2009. Out of a mom and pop sneaker and apparel store on Dyckman Street, they gained popularity for their work, specially in their home turf, Washington Heights and Inwood. in 2011 the group disbanded, remaining good friends.

In 2012, brothers Raul and Johan became partners and relaunched the project, under The Nueva York ACP Group (NYACPG) umbrella. Since then, the brothers developed and implemented creative initiatives across multiple platforms, gaining national and international popularity for streetwear apparel. Their work has been spotted in the hands of award winning influencers and tastemakers, locally and nationally. The duo also produced a series of events featuring music and art, titled "Greetings From Nueva York" taking place at various venues that include the East Village, Flatiron District and Bushwick, Brooklyn.
